God's Outreach Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to helping people in need.  God's Outreach is completely independent, relying on the support of individuals, businesses and churches.  God's Outreach would not exits without their support.

Owensboro was hit in January 2000 with a tornado  God's Outreach aided in collecting and distributing food to families in need.  Through local volunteer efforts, we gave out 42,000 pounds of food boxes in two and a half days.  Food distribution continued through mid-summer, allowing families to get their lives back together.

God's Outreach serves in two primary ways.  Through our food bank we work with over a hundred agencies giving out bulk food items.  During the year 2000, we donated 460,000 pounds of food.

Secondly, through our food pantry, we work with local agencies, organizations, and churches helping to meet the needs of individuals and families.  Agency representative are equipped with vouchers which they fill out with the client's name, household members, address, phone number, and social security numbers.  Clients are then responsible to call and make an appointment with us.  We find that representative having personal relationships with families and individuals helps us to serve them better in their time of need.

We are experiencing a growing increase in families who are in need of assistance.  Food donations have decreased and we are now forced to purchase more food.  We would like to see the need decrease; unfortunately since 1996 we have only seen an increase of people in need.
